English Standard Version (ESV). Each has their drawbacks and advantages, but both offer solid and reliable readings. My recommendation is for each person to have more than one. Stay with a traditional and known marquee. While I do not care for the liberal cast of either the NRSV or NKJV scriptural interpretations, my vote is submitted for at least one Bible I’ve mentioned to be used for study and another for easy reading. I personally find reading the Bible is somewhat like keeping an old Dodge power wagon on one side of the driveway, but leave some room alongside to park a white Hemi ‘Cuda. |
