We are often asked, "But why would God be so outrageous?" Only one reason is given…“For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, that whosoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life”. (John 3:16) Ahh… there in just two biblical verses... is the central message... God’s love poured out! At this point we may stress that the gift given is ours regardless of any earthly power. We no longer need to worry about our own death. That eternal life guarantee begins from the time of faith given at baptism, through death and continuing until the “end” of the age. all things... we are thus safely secured by the love of God. Now, consider what we are asked to do, and what this will do for those to whom you witness. We are called to proclaim the good news to the world. If they accept your witness and confess their sinfulness and receive forgiveness in faith for the sake of Jesus, they are freed from tyranny. They become God’s servant. The person who receives your witness can then join you to work in Christ for the betterment of all. That is the right work of the Church. Invite them to join in ministry with you and attend Bible study and church. You see, to do evangelism we must break out into the world from the catacombs of the modern religious molds made for us by others.
