assessments are changing the scales. Challenges thus occur when past dating estimates are seen in error as the measurement methods change. This is like measuring first with metric ruler, and then changing the remainder of the task to U.S. Standard. Thus a test sample’s dating may be substantially influenced by the educational background, skill, philosophical bent of the researcher, and other variants now present in accepted test procedures. It’s a bit like taking a compression test on a V-8 engine with four different gauges as the starter voltage draws down.

As example, I offer as such the dating of the venerated Shroud of Turin… the cloth some believe was

the grave shroud of Jesus. This treasure’s dating has been influenced by who was doing the testing and where upon the cloth the test sample was taken. Also because of uncertainty about the faint history of the cloth... which shows signs of being mended... no consensus yet exists. Now, since the artistic shroud is of precious value, further destructive tests are thus far halted.

The second criticism I level against a concrete scientific evolutional theory, is that the assumptions of Charles Darwin and such other scientists do not always hold true.

Bill Nye echoed on several occasions that evolution moves from

the simple to the more complex, and from the imperfect toward the more perfect survivor… as in the development of man. I object somewhat to this theory. Obviously, he’s never driven a V-8 powered ’66 Mustang and then slid behind the wheel of a later anemic Mustang II. We see similarly in many paths that the development theory garners obvious exceptions. We certainly see that this maxim of moving higher does not always prove out. For example, during a nuclear explosion and subsequent radiation, complex living entities perished where simpler cockroaches survived. In addition, in the area of physics, Pascal’s Second Law of Thermodynamics renders the lie to upward flow in everything, such as energy… as high heat is shown to dissipate toward the lower temperature equalization found in nature.

However, as a person trained both technologically and theologically, I found both explanations as somewhat stilted. Where the scientist fell into defining as “mystery” all evidence for any matter existence prior to the Big Bang, leaving the observer inquisitively stranded in primordial history… the theologian failed to stress the presence of a unique faith perspective as a proof. The scriptural record from an ancient, yet concretely unidentifiable author of church doctrine tells us more certainly. . .

“Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen. For by it the men of old received divine approval. By faith we understand that the world was created by the word of God, so that what is seen was made out of things which do not appear.”

Is this Ford a ‘54, ‘55, or’56 automobile? Is it really a Ford? A proper answer as to its age and source depends on an investigator’s research, observances, and specialized knowledge of the car’s evolution.
