no longer just a local country teacher. He was different as they stood by watching. They would see that he was more than a prophet. He was more than a priest. He was more than a king. They came down from that mountain and tried to mark the spot where they were, like those of us who want to remember that special car, or that remarkable car show… capturing a marvelous event. They tried to capture that moment for all time. As we hear the story we think… maybe they did, but then again… maybe not. Much like that slippery newt I saw in the creek, we can’t hold God back. Jesus, as he had intended... traveled on to Jerusalem The men followed and finally realized his identity, for only those who are told where to look can see him. And we know it was they who had changed, not he.
