been a past of destruction, depravity and death, not just this past year… but for thousands of years. Subsequently, we need look to God for answers as to why this was. We need not look far to find what will be. From the days of fallen Rome, we hear warnings from blessed Saint Paul. He clearly spoke out like the flash of an old timing light… “When you were slaves of sin, you were free in regard to righteousness. But then what return did you get from the things of which you are now ashamed? The end of those things is death.” (Romans 6:20-21) From these reliable words we are brought with teeth clenched to the truth about this upcoming year. Though we may think that dire past events won’t spin into the new calendar, according to the judgment of our eternal, everlasting God… the prognosis is the same. What now? Shall we now try to simply do better? Certainly… but just remember, there’s no such thing as an indestructible connecting rod. As good as we may try to be, all of us spin on the same crank. Something will break before us even at moderate use… as age hardening sets in during the natural flow of earthly time. Why is this deterioration so? Read the Ten Commandments found in the book of Exodus, Chapter 20. It’s our Lord’s metric system! It says that we are judged. None measure up. What then can we do? Some among us lose hope, choosing to end their lives. These reject the opportunity that God gives. Though we dare not judge them, it seems they listen to demons and fool themselves! |

Understand that God yet presses each of us to seek scripture for the proper answer. For this we can read in Saint Paul’s letter to the Ephesians. ”Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places, even as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, |
